RYA Start Windsurf Instructor Course 2

This course allows candidates to teach the Start Windsurfing course and Stages 1 and 2 of the Youth Windsurfing Scheme under the supervision of a senior instructor.

The course is based around the RYA Start Windsurfing syllabus, so please make sure you are familiar with this prior to your arrival. The course will cover the use a simulator, on water demonstrations and group teaching techniques and control and you will spend most of the week on beginner equipment.

You must have these pre requirements.

• Minimum age of 16
• Valid First Aid Certificate
• RYA Powerboat Level 2 Certificate
• RYA Safe and Fun safeguarding Certificate
• Intermediate non-planing certificate with beach start and non-planing gybes

You will be assessed on a continual basis over the 5 days through a range of land-based simulator sessions and presentations as well as on the water demonstrations and practical sessions, and an additional RYA trainer will moderate the course on the final day.

Once you have successfully completed this course you will be qualified to teach, under the supervision of an RYA senior instructor, the Start Windsurfing course, and Youth Windsurfing Scheme stage 1 & 2.
