Duties for New Members

As part of the joining process you will have had to agree that you understood that all active club members over 18 are expected to do at least two duties per year. This is a fundamental part of how we operate as a members’ club and ensures that the roles for organising racing and providing safety cover are provided to allow club activities to take place.

As a new member you are not expected to undertake duties straight away. If you join in the first six months of the year we ask you do do one duty in the second half of the year. If you join in the second half of the year then we expect you to be part of the usual duty allocation process for the following year. If you have no experience and are concerned about your ability to do duties then initially select either Assistant Safetyboat (SBA) or Assistant Race Officer (ARO) as for both these you don’t need experience and the RO or SBH will tell you what to do.

If you are eligible for duty then you should get details of your DutyMan login when you join. if you don’t then please ask . If you are not expected to do duties but are keen and want to help then just ask for a login and we will provide one.

If you are expected to do duties but feel that you are unable then please contact to discuss it.
