These sessions will run mainly on Sunday from 10am to 4pm and are aimed at those who have already attended the improver sessions and are now independent and reasonably competent sailors ready to move onto racing, and for those who are already doing some racing but want to learn more. The sessions are for both youth and adult sailors and the sessions will be led by RYA Race Coaches Kieron Wright and George Spence. Those attending are encouraged to attend all sessions as regularly as possible to make full benefit of the progressive tuition. The mornings will involve race training exercises, and if conditions are suitable, participants will then join club racing in the afternoon supported by the Kieron and George with a briefing, on the water coaching from a powerboat and a debrief. This is a great way to build the confidence and knowledge to get into club racing. The training sessions must be booked in advance – one booking per person, so 2 needed for a double hander.

COSTS
Sessions can be booked as a block of 8 (does not include the end of season regatta), or individually. We encourage participants to attend all sessions as tuition will follow a progressive syllabus.
Tuition at these training sessions is free to members, although we ask for a voluntary contribution when booking of £15 per person per session towards the cost of fuel for the safety boats and upkeep of training boats and equipment. If you are using a club boat rather than your own please add this when booking which adds £5. By this stage we recommend that you should try to have a boat of your own. Please bear in mind that none of the coordinators, coaches or assistants receive any financial return for their voluntary efforts.
If you block book all 8 sessions the cost will be £100 – a saving of £20.
If booking all 8 sessions and use of a club boat the cost will be £100 + £40 for the boat hire.
