The text from the Membership System Welcome Message is shown below in case new members need to refer to it and cannot find the email.
Welcome to Yorkshire Dales Sailing Club. This message contains some important information about your membership, so please read it carefully. If you want to refer back to it the text is also on the website under the Membership Menu > Welcome Message Text.
All new members should read the Activities and Craft page on the website which has important information on restrictions plus links to guides for Sailing, Windsurfing and Canoe/Kayaking. There is a lot of useful information on the website and you may find the index under Club > Club Info Index helpful. If you have not visited the club then feel free to contact the Membership Secretary () to arrange for someone to show you around.
There are several ways we keep in touch; we have a periodic email newsletter called Watersplash. You can sign up on the website here and unsubscribe at any time using the link in the footer of every newsletter email. We have various WhatsApp groups within a community which are described with instructions on the website here. You should also be able to join by a link available from the Membership Secretary.
There are two Facebook groups; a main one which is open and a windsurf one which is closed – just click and ask to join. There are also icons for them on the website. Lastly, we have an emergency SMS system that sends out messages to all registered club members only when needed. It is not used often and mostly for things like when the club is unexpectedly closed for snow or suchlike. You can unsubscribe, but we would rather you didn’t.
